Sanford is the kiwi seafood company that’s based in 13 New Zealand communities, spread far and wide across Aotearoa. Together at Sanford we are proud of our extensive seafood history and our position as New Zealand’s largest integrated fishing and aquaculture business. Our vision is Leadership in New Zealand Seafood, achieving this through a values led approach of care, passion, integrity and achieving together in all that we do. Sanford people are a diverse bunch. Some were born here and grew up by the sea, others have travelled thousands of miles across the ocean to live here. But all are united by their passion for our beautiful New Zealand seafood.
Greenshell Mussels are New Zealand’s most iconic seafood and are rated by the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch Programme as one of the most sustainable seafood products in the world. Sanford accounts for over 40% of the national harvest volume and employs over 400 staff who are committed to growing this tasty, nutritious delicacy in a way that uses low food input and has a positive impact on our waters.
Our largest area of mussel farms are located in and around beautiful Golden Bay. As one of the largest integrated farming, harvesting, and processing operations, we operate an extensive range of vessels to seed, reseed, maintain, and harvest our Green shell Mussel farms. Yard Support services work alongside the Harvesting crews, ensuring operational organisation and creating a range of other opportunities.
We are looking for people who share a love and respect for the sea, are passionate about looking after the environment, and wanting a lifelong career in the Aquaculture Industry.
