Twenty students from high schools across Nelson Tasman participated in the Forestry Careers Exploration Day with One Forty One, gaining valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities within the forestry industry.
The first site in Golden Downs focused on silviculture, specifically tree planting. Here, the students participated by planting young seedlings themselves. Once they had mastered the techniques, they engaged in planting races and a measuring competition, with prizes for the winners.

Next, the students visited a working skid site. They learned about different roles, machinery, and learnt about the importance of health, safety, and environmental conservation in forestry operations.
The stunning weather offered breathtaking views, showcasing the beauty of a potential workplace. For those who love the outdoors and teamwork, forestry presents an excellent career choice. The event sparked genuine enthusiasm among the students, highlighting forestry as a promising career option. Thanks One Forty One for an epic day out!
